The Associated Laboratory for Green Chemistry (LAQV) of the Network of Chemistry and Technology (REQUIMTE)  is the Portuguese Research Centre for Sustainable Chemistry, a leading contributor to scientific innovation and a key partner to promote a sustainable development of our society.

Created in 1996 by researchers from the NOVA University of Lisbon and the University of Porto, currently it spreads out from the two main portuguese metropolitan areas of Lisbon and Porto to integrate Aveiro, Coimbra, Évora and small sites all over the country.

LAQV embraces ca 1000 researchers (half of which are PhD holders), who are currently pushing the boundaries of Sustainable Chemistry and Chemical Engineering to provide sustainable and practical solutions for governments, industry, and the general public. LAQV research crosses the fields of Chemical Synthesis, Catalysis, Food Science & Technology, Natural Products, Analytical Methods, Intensification of Processes & Clean Technologies, Alternative Solvents and Smart Materials.

The University of Porto (U.Porto) is one of Portugal’s leading higher education and research institutions, recognized for its academic excellence, international outlook, and strong commitment to innovation. With a vibrant multidisciplinary community, U.Porto contributes significantly to the advancement of knowledge and to the development of society.

The Madeira Promotion Bureau plays an important role in promoting the Madeira region as an attractive destination for visitors, events, and international initiatives. Through its work, the Bureau contributes to strengthening Madeira’s visibility and supporting the development of tourism and professional events across the region.

For this symposium, the Madeira Promotion Bureau generously contributed promotional materials and logistical assistance, helping to enhance the event experience and support its organization. Their contribution provided valuable practical and promotional support throughout the event.

The Sociedade Portuguesa de Química (SPQ) is Portugal’s scientific society dedicated to promoting Chemistry through research, education, scientific exchange, and the dissemination of knowledge. Founded in 1911, it brings together researchers, educators, students, and professionals across the chemical sciences.

Through its scientific divisions, conferences, publications, and educational initiatives, the SPQ supports the development and visibility of Chemistry in Portugal and fosters connections within the wider scientific community. Its engagement with the symposium included the dissemination of the event through its network and the provision of promotional materials, contributing to its visibility and outreach within the Portuguese scientific community.

Chemistry Europe represents 16 European chemical societies from 15 countries, jointly publishing 21 scholarly journals and supporting the international exchange and dissemination of chemical research. Its mission is to promote scientific excellence through high-quality publications, while fostering integrity, openness, diversity, cooperation, and freedom of thought.

As a supporter of TheoBio 2026, Chemistry Europe contributes to the recognition and development of emerging scientific talent. The partnership includes the award of three poster prizes, with each winner receiving a €150 Chemistry Europe Book Voucher and the opportunity for an optional manuscript consultation with a Chemistry Europe editor. The programme will also feature a workshop by Dr. David Peralta, Editor-in-Chief of ChemMedChem, on AI Tools and Best Practices for Publishing and Research.
