TheoBio2026

Funchal, Madeira Island

Welcome

The 10th edition of Theoretical Biophysics Symposium (TheoBio 2026) welcomes you to Funchal, Madeira Island, Portugal, from 18–22 October 2026. This meeting continues a proud tradition of successful editions in Cetraro (2023), Donostia (2017), Cagliari (2015), Gothenburg (2013), Funchal (2011), Roscoff (2009), Cetraro (2007), Örebro (2005), and Donostia (2003).

TheoBio 2026 will cover a broad spectrum of topics in theoretical biophysics and theoretical & computational biochemistry/biology. The program features state-of-the-art lectures by leading theoreticians, complemented by selected experimental contributions to foster meaningful dialogue between theory and experiment. It is our mission to gather experts in the modeling of complex biomolecular processes, namely protein dynamics, enzyme reactivity and engineering, in silico drug design and kinetics, among others, to discuss state-of-the-art developments and outline the future in this vibrant field.

During 5-days, we will host leading researchers working in the application and development of physics-based methods for the study of biomolecular processes, including molecular dynamics, electronic structure calculations and multiscale modeling. Follow the updates on the Speakers page for more detail.

Young researchers and advanced graduate students are especially encouraged to take part and present a poster.

Registration is now open (register here).
The deadline for registration is the 30th June.
